Rody Quesnel Inc. (SRQ) is a company formed in 2000 from the merger of two
long standing well-known Northern Ontario firms: H. Sutcliffe Limited and
Rody and Quesnel Surveying Inc.
H. Sutcliffe Limited was formed as a corporation in 1906 in New Liskeard, Ontario, by Homer W. Sutcliffe in response to the need for professional engineering and surveying services throughout the region of northeastern Ontario. Historically, the purpose of the operation of the company was to provide the services of professional engineers and legal surveyors necessary to support the planning, development and rehabilitation of property and infrastructure within the various sectors of the Northern Ontario economy. Today SRQ offers a wide range of engineering and surveying services through a customer oriented delivery approach.
Rody
and Quesnel Surveying Inc. was first incorporated in 1971, in Cochrane
Ontario as T.E. Rody Limited, after being operated as a sole proprietorship
by Talson Rody, O.L.S., since 1964. The company brought to the merger full
time offices in Cochrane and Timmins. SRQ is the only legal surveying firm
in either centre. With respect to land surveying, SRQ provides a full range
of survey services to a variety of corporate,
municipal and senior government clients including legal surveys for
residences, severances and subdivisions, pre-engineering surveys, high
accuracy GPS surveys and project surveying for new industrial developments.
SRQ continues to build on the strengths of the firm, as well as broaden its service operations base in Northern Ontario. The year 2006 marked the 100 year anniversary of SRQ providing engineering and surveying services in Northern Ontario. In 2007, entering the second century of providing these services, SRQ joined forces with Trow as a member company to form the Trow Northern Ontario Group, the Northern Ontario division of Trow representing the largest engineering and surveying firm located in Northern Ontario.
